On Wednesday 24 September 2025, RGPWA hosted its annual forum in Fremantle. The event brought together RGPWA Coordination Unit staff from across the state, representing the diverse regions where RGPWA trainees live, learn, and practice. It served as a valuable opportunity for the team to connect, exchange updates on local initiatives, and reflect on the experiences and insights gained over the past year.

The day featured a series of presentations and collaborative discussion, highlighting achievements, challenges and innovations around rural generalist training. The team also had the opportunity to share ideas aimed at strengthening the pathway and identifying opportunities for growth in the years ahead.

The event concluded with a sundowner for our RGPWA trainees, with ample opportunity to network with other trainees and the regional teams.

A special thank you to all the DCTs and MEOs for their ongoing dedication and support. Your commitment to mentoring and guiding our trainees plays a vital role in shaping the future of rural healthcare in WA.
