A recap of our annual Beating Burnout Workshop

The RGPWA Beating Burnout Workshop is facilitated virtually by Dr Amy Imms
21/08/2024

We recently delivered our annual Beating Burnout Workshop to our trainees virtually via Microsoft Teams.

Funded by the RGPWA Coordination Unit and facilitated by Dr Amy Imms, the workshop provided attendees with a comprehensive understanding of burnout, its symptoms, and its potential long-term effects.

Dr Imms has a background in general practice and now focuses her work on burnout prevention and management. Her approach is both informative and interactive, encouraging participants to reflect on their own experiences and identify early signs of burnout in their lives. Through a series of discussions, exercises, and real-world examples, Dr Imms shared actionable strategies that participants could implement immediately to reduce stress and prevent burnout. Attendees were also encouraged to set personal goals and make commitments to small but impactful changes in their daily routines.

One attendee remarked that the workshop was excellent, noting that it is not only relevant for junior medical practitioners, but also valuable for senior doctors, allied health staff, and people from all walks of life.

If you missed out on this year's session, make sure to keep an eye on our updates for future events and opportunities!
