Dr Jarrad Lenegan - 2023 ACRRM Registrar of the Year
Dr Jarrad Lenegan, a trainee on the RGPWA, won the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) 2023 Registrar of the Year award at the RMA23 conference in Hobart. The award acknowledges an ACRRM registrar who demonstrates outstanding leadership and advocacy in the field of rural and remote medicine. Dr Lenegan works as a fly-in-fly-out doctor between Broome and the riverside community of Fitzroy Crossing and is currently training through the Remote Vocational Training Scheme. He is also supported by our RGPWA Kimberley Director of Clinical Training, Dr Yehuda Levy. Dr Lenegan said he is honoured, recognising the many doctors who provide sound advice and encouragement. “Over the last three years, the teams in Broome, Derby and Fitzroy Crossing hospitals have embraced me as a colleague and assisted me as a registrar. They create a work atmosphere with enough independence to develop my confidence, combined with a certainty of their support that feels safe,” Dr Lenegan said. Congratulations Jarrad on your tremendous efforts and award!
