Dr Ruth Highman | Director of Clinical Training
Dr Ruth Highman is a dual fellowship holder with both the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Her advanced skills include Anaesthetics and Emergency Medicine. Ruth has previously worked in general practice doing sessional GP Anaesthetics. More recently, she has worked exclusively in Emergency Medicine at Geraldton Health Campus. One of Ruth's roles within the Geraldton Health Campus Emergency Department involves teaching junior doctors, which has allowed her to indulge her interest in teaching. In her role as the RGPWA Midwest Director of Clinical Training, Ruth has been able to share her passion and enthusiasm for rural medicine and all that it offers to the next generation of rural generalists.
Kristy Geyson | Medical Education Officer
Kristy Geyson grew up in Geraldton and is now raising a family (including two beloved 'fur babies') in this beautiful part of regional Western Australia. Kristy is a passionate advocate for the Geraldton area and all that it can offer to junior doctors and their families. She is excited to support the Rural Generalist Pathway in the Midwest region as part of her full-time role as Medical Education Officer at Geraldton Health Campus.
