Wendy Sexton 400

Dr Wendy Sexton

Director of Clinical Training (DCT)

Dr Wendy Sexton has spent her medical career working in a wide range of rural and remote settings throughout Australia and overseas. She works at Hedland Health Campus as a DMO in emergency medicine, as well as providing community palliative care for the Pilbara. She enjoys bedside teaching and mentoring medical students and junior doctors. She loves the variety and breadth of clinical skills that rural generalist medicine requires. No day is the same and it’s the best job in the world!

Mia Zaknich

Medical Education Officer (MEO)

Mia Zaknich joined Karratha Health Campus in 2021, motivated and inspired by the memory of her two grandmothers who spent much of their careers working for WA Health.  Mia really enjoys supporting the rural generalists as well as medical students and junior doctors to make the transition from city to country. She hopes the Pilbara can be seen as a destination that will offer rewarding experiences to doctors wanting to make rural medicine a part of their future.
