Dr Ruth Highman

Director of Clinical Training (DCT)

Dr Ruth Highman is a dual fellowship holder with both FACRRM and FARGP. Her advanced skills include both Anaesthetics and Emergency Medicine. Ruth has previously worked in General Practice doing sessional GP Anaesthetics. For the past eight years she has worked exclusively in Emergency Medicine at Geraldton Regional Hospital. One of her roles within the Geraldton ED is teaching RMOs, which has allowed her to indulge her interest in teaching. In her role as the Director of Clinical Training for Rural Generalists in the Midwest, she has been able to share her passion and enthusiasm for rural medicine and all that it offers to the next generation of Rural Generalists.

Kristy Geyson

Medical Education Officer (MEO)

Kristy Geyson grew up in Geraldton and is now raising a family (including 2 beloved fur babies) in this beautiful part of regional WA. Kristy is a passionate advocate for the Geraldton area and all that it can offer to junior doctors and their families. She is excited to support the Rural Generalist Pathway in the Midwest as part of her full-time role as Medical Education Officer at Geraldton Hospital.
